We believe that supporting the economic, educational, and spiritual development of women is essential for the flourishing of communities in Congo. From mass human rights abuses to broken judicial systems, Congolese women often have the least access to resources and the most vulnerability to exploitation. According to a 2010 national survey, only 51% of Congolese women ages 15-24 are literate.
At Congo Initiative, we are working hard to change that. Through intentional support of women’s education at UCBC and vocational training opportunities through our Center for Holistic Family Development, we are working to rebuild a Congo in which all members of the community can experience and contribute to holistic transformation.
