STAND WITH THE RISING GENERATION
Congo Initiative equips the rising generation through transformative education for a flourishing Congo.
OUR WORK
Congo Initiative invests in those best positioned to create lasting change and thriving communities. Visionary changemakers develop lasting initiatives to confront Congo’s greatest challenges and ignite human flourishing. Our core catalyst for change is the locally-led L’Université Chrétienne Bilingue du Congo (UCBC) and its community engagement initiatives, located in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
STORIES OF IMPACT
Merry Dejoly Musa (’23)
Merry is the first person in her family to attend university. Merry participated in student-led “Women’s Voices," a group created to support female students. “With the Women’s Voices group, we learn that each woman must trust in herself and must know that she’s able to change the world.”
Archip Lobo (’14)
Archip faced immeasurable trauma as a young man, witnessing atrocities committed against his family members. He pressed on with resilience and found hope through his studies and engagement with the community at UCBC. Now, Archip is co-founder of Nuru, a solar power country on track to provide 5 million people in Congo with power.
