Since its inauguration in 2007, the Christian Bilingual University of Congo (UCBC) has provided a new model of education to deserving young men and women, regardless of their financial circumstances. An education that is new, innovative and holistic is delivered to hundreds of students each and every day. Through UCBC, we’re not just educating; we are forming women and men who will respond to the needs of their communities and give hope to Congo’s future.
In order for us to faithfully provide this new, innovative, and transformative education at UCBC, we need your help. The annual average family income is less than $300 per year. UCBC students and their families make tremendous sacrifices to pay on average $400 each year. The total costs of operating this high quality education are roughly $1600 per student per year, leaving a $1200 tuition gap for each student (75% of total cost). With 500 students each year, there remains a $600,000 total tuition gap/year.
In response, we are launching a student aid campaign, Bridge the Gap. We are looking for Bridge Builders. People like you who can pledge $20, $50, or $100 a month to help us bridge the tuition gap. As a Bridge Builder, you are not just providing an education, but you are bridging the gap between an outdated and irrelevant form of education and an innovative, forward-looking education that is already transforming Congo. You are helping us bridge the gap between the despair of Congo’s past and the hope of Congo’s future. Whatever it is that you can do, this is the time to get involved and become a Bridge Builder.
