Centers and Initiatives

Centers and Initiatives

Though the Christian Bilingual University of Congo (UCBC) remains central to Congo Initiative’s vision and mission, our centers and initiatives play a crucial role in serving the local community. From primary schools to justice initiatives to social entrepreneurship programs, CI provides opportunities for children, women, and men throughout Congolese society to participate in transformation. Like UCBC, these centers and initiatives are flourishing despite difficult realities. By making a gift, you help bring about change throughout communities in eastern Congo and join our passionate staff in serving hundreds of people throughout the year.

Neema Congo

Neema Congo is a Congolese-led economic growth initiative based in North Kivu, eastern Congo (DRC), one of the world’s most war-torn and impoverished regions. Neema Congo’s vision is for a Congo where all people – even those with the most limited access to resources– can actively and sustainably participate in the growth of Congo’s economy and secure their livelihoods.

Our mission is to accelerate the growth and success of small business owners in Congo through financing and support services that return revenues for our project partners and sustain the operations of Neema Congo.

Justice Initiatives

Through our Center for Professional Development and Vocational Training, we seek to promote justice initiatives in Congo by elevating the voices and influence of those charged with doing so. We train and support lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals from eastern Congo to elevate justice in the context of a broken system.

ABC Primary School

Académie Bilingue du Congo (ABC) is the affiliated primary school of UCBC, and seeks to apply UCBC’s transformational vision of education in the lives of eastern Congo’s youngest learners. Our multinational team of faculty and staff focuses on character development, community engagement, and critical thinking as we seek to produce well-balanced global citizens. The introduction of evidence-based curriculum and teaching techniques allows us to engage learners at all stages and abilities as a new model for primary education in Congo.
