Dr. Steve Tracy is the president and international director for Mending the Soul Ministries, a Christian nonprofit whose mission is to bring healing from trauma and abuse in Jesus’ name. He is also Professor of Practice at Phoenix Seminary where he has taught theology and ethics since 1995. Steve received his Ph.D. in biblical studies from the University of Sheffield (England). He is the author of several books, including Mending the Soul: Understanding and Healing Abuse. His academic work is focused on sexuality, abuse, and biblical social justice. Steve and his wife Celestia spend 6-8 weeks a year serving and equipping trauma survivors in East Africa.
Steve and Celestia had the privilege of meeting David and Kassie Kasali in 2005 when CI was just getting launched. From the first time they visited CI in 2007, they knew that this ministry was filling a tremendous need in a most strategic manner. Over the years Steve and Celestia have partnered with CI-UCBC in a variety of ways and have joyfully watched it grow and flourish amidst incredible challenges. Steve is delighted to be part of the GA to work together to advance CI-UCBC’s God ordained mission.
